Artist statement
In my picture i used mainly sharpy and water colors (which i regret). What I did to make my picture was I made a outline of stools sitting on a desk on one piece of paper and then I put it on a bigger piece. After that i painted in the space that would usually be blank. The first thing we had to do was get a good angle on the stools so we could have a good representation of there outline. This part was pretty easy and only took me like 10 minutes. After this I had to put it on a bigger sheet and fill in the negative space. After I outlined the stool I had trouble deciding what to but in the negative space. My first idea was to make each area its own thing but instead i made a bigger picture with lines going through it. After I had painted the scene of hills and the sky I regretted it because you could see all the lines from the brush and I don't like that look so i went over it and made little lines creating cool designs which I think fixed the picture.
In my picture I think I used good Texture because even tho I am not a fan of the brush mark design it looks ok as a background to the smaller lines. There isn't much shading that I could do But you can still tell what everything is and there really doesn't need to be much shading. I used my space really well because instead of just filling everything in with trippy designs I only put them in the hills, clouds, and in space. I think i could have blended the line between space and sky better because it seems to instant but I still think it looks ok. The pattern I used was just switching between lines, dots/circles, and zig zags which made a cool design, especially in the hill.
There's not much of a story in my picture because it is just a scene but it is still cool to look at and picture what it would look like without the stool outline in front of it. My project doesn't relate directly to me but the design i used is definitely one of my favorites and favorite things to do in art. Im proudest of the use of space and how i filled everything in but im not a fan of the water color and how the stool outline turned out. I think I could have done a better job on the stool outline or atleast made it a little thicker.
