Artist statement: The maine Idea that guided my artwork was following the design I had used in my art, and making it more abstract. With my work I also wanted to try multimedia, using more than one material. I first thought about using acrylic, but I wanted to try something I don't usually so I used watercolor. I then used children's crayons to try and make a landscape that would have been drawn by a little kid. I also wanted to use balance and space in my work.

The picture I made used a lot of different pieces, starting off as a sketch. i then went though and painted in all of the rock wall. I then finally went through and drew like a kid would draw in the middle. I then thought it did not look abstract enough so i used more crayons to make shapes. I also used watercolor paper

My process started with me picking out a design to base my art on, which ended up being the top left: balance and space. I then went and drew an outline. I then went through and painted it in, adding a lot of detail in the rock like arch. I then also added some leaf looking design to add some depth. I finally drew in the gateway to make art that looked like a kid drew it, trying to amke it look spacious to follow the space theme of my art.
