Semester 1 Reflection:
This year I have done a lot of work, some of better then others. Some art pieces I think I did good with would be my sustained investigations and my beautiful oops. I like my beautiful oops because it was at the begging of the year and I felt like there were ne expectations for my art. This lead me to use acrylic which I don't usually use and I feel like I liked my final piece. I also was a big fan of my sustained investigation. I had no clue what to do at first, but I eventually got the idea to make city perspective drawings, something I have tried in the past (kind of in my first time whatchamacallit drawing) and take my time with it. This lead me to make pieces I was proud of, and I like that there is a set.
I think that I have struggled the most with fleshing out ideas. I have had a few projects like the designing abstraction and the stars and stripes project where I had good ideas in my head, but could not flesh out. I feel like that is the hard part of art, getting your ideas on paper. It is really easy to think something will look good but in reality it doesn't or you don't have the practice to make it happen. I think the only way for me to get better at this is if I do art more and build my skills, kind of like the independent studies which have increased in quality due to practice
My goals for art are to just do it more. i want to keep doing art and not fall out of it like i have for the past few years. i want to continue the idea of perspective and making architectural type pieces. I also want to experiment with different mediums more. this year I did quite a few different types of art, and I liked it. I want to find out more of what I like to work with so that art can be a fun hobby rather then something I feel like I have to do.
