Artist statement
For both designs I had many ideas, but I had to make sure that they were high contrast and not to complex. For the train I had plenty of ideas sketched out, jumping from the word train appearing in smoke, to the word train being in train tracks. For the FHS logo, I started out by making a morse retro feeling logo, where the letters are very block and basic, but then i moved on from that and made an FHS logo similar to my final one. After some thinking I decided to make my logo for photography class, and slightly change the design to look like photo film
the work was made with pencil as sketches, and then re made as a final design. I used normal sketch book paper to draw on, and I made multiple different designs on each page. When I made my final designs I used sharpie pen in order to make sure my lines were straight. After I finished my FHS logo, I put it into photoshop and then made it into a more finished logo. Photoshop was fun to use and I was able to fix the design just with my mouse.
The process I followed was making sketches and then picking one for a final piece, which is what I did for both logos. The sketches I drew were all very different for the train design, where I wet from making it an actual train, to it being the train tracks, to it being the smoke from the train. I then decided that I wanted it to be simple and something that does not take up too much space, so i made it the front of a train. For the FHS logo, I did not make many sketches becasue I liked the idea I had started on. After I had made a final drawn piece for the FHS logo, I then put it in photoshop and made it look cleaner.
