The the cricket logo, it is clear that I was trying to represent a cricket in the simplest form possible, but so that the logo could still be recognized as a cricket from far away. The clarion logo in particular relates to my life because I am in The Clarion club, therefore I felt inclined to create a logo that would represent the club well.

To make both pieces, I started off sketching many ideas for what would be the best way to represent both a club and a cricket in the simplest, but also most unique and visually pleasing way possible. After choosing the best option for both graphic design pieces, I outlines them with best for contrast, and made a select few areas a color for emphasis. For the Clarion piece, I used masking tape to write in "THE CLARION" so that it would stay white. However, the sharpie ended up being too much for the masking tape to hold off, and things took downward turn.

In order to create the crisp pen lines, I first made a finalized sketch, went over that with pen, and then, I erased the pencil lines. I also attempted to use masking tape, as I discussed above. The evolution of this project occurred through the many sketches that I did to find the best possible, visually pleasing, simplicit option. If I were to continue with this project, I would redo The Clarion logo because the lines in that design are not crisp, and when printed the letters would be hard to see because they are so skinny.
