I have no relationship or received no compensation from Moroccan Oil company, and I based this post on my own experience. There are products that I swear by that I have to share with the world. When a reader emailed me about my hair regiment and said: “you should write a post about this,” I thought you’re right. So Dalia P. this post is for you and includes tips on how to use Moroccan Oil on curly hair.

Dream it.

I wish I had perfect curls every day, but that is not my reality. Everyone with curly hair knows how vulnerable to frizz it is. On day 1, it can be great, but then on day 2, things are not always easy to fix.

Not all curls are created equal either, so finding the best products for your curly hair is a very personal and frustrating thing. I’veI’ve tried a lot of products, and right now, the go-to for me is MoroccanOil.

Curly Hair Rescue with Moroccan Oil

I have a confession to make to all of you I usually have the worst vacation hair ever! You know how Monica on Friends went on vacation, and her hair got frizzier and bigger throughout the trip? Well, my hair can be just as unruly and frizzy as that when I hit a tropical destination or when things get humid here at home. Is Moroccan Oil Curly Girl Approved [CGM Method Friendly Products]

I can't remember if I posted about this and I like it so much I wanted to be sure that I told other curlies. Is Moroccan Oil Curly Girl Approved [CGM Method Friendly Products]

This oil is loaded with silicones so if you avoid them - this is not for you. I avoid it completely during those phases when I am going silicone free but I don't find silicones bad for my hair. Also avoid this or use very sparingly if your hair is thin and fragile. Is Moroccan Oil Curly Girl Approved [CGM Method Friendly Products]

My hair is fairly coarse. This makes my hair so silky and manageable. It has rescued me on days when I thought my hair was hopeless. I use it when I go curly and if I do a roller set. I haven't tried it in summer so I can't speak for what it does in high dews. I'm interested to hear if anyone else has tried it.

I have tried so many hair serums and frizzy hair treatments, but nothing seemed to work on my hair. Then on a trip to Israel, a local hairdresser got me hooked on Moroccan Oil. I bought a bottle during my vacation, and even in the hot, humid Israeli weather, my hair was actually under control.

I brought home half a suitcase filled with the oil – praying on the entire flight home that none of the glass bottles would break, but I couldn’t risk coming back and not having this miracle hair oil. Is Moroccan Oil Curly Girl Approved [CGM Method Friendly Products]

Eventually, the oil became available here in North America and soon after the line began to expand. Now Moroccan Oil is known as a favourite curly hair product worldwide. Is Moroccan Oil Curly Girl Approved [CGM Method Friendly Products]

Benefits of MoroccanOil on Curly Hair

There are so many benefits to using MoroccanOil Treatment serum in your hair, and it doesn’t matter if you have curly, wavy or straight hair.

I've been interested in Moroccan oil but never tried it (cones etc.). But, I would love to know how you wash/style your hair when you do use it. Do you use sulfates too now and/or alternate with a Curly girl method when you do/don't opt to use Moroccan oil? I think silicone might help protect hair in a weird way by making a barrier in the same way that say nail hardener or nail

polish would help your nails. Sure nail polish remover would dry then out like a sulfate would on hair, but you can remoisturize then right? I think it's really interesting when people reintroduce comes because they might have come from a silicone free run. I'd be really interested to know more about how you see cones etc. Is Moroccan Oil Curly Girl Approved [CGM Method Friendly Products]

MoroccanOil On Clean Hair – After Towel Drying

Don’t use too much, apply 1-2 pumps to the palm of your hand.

In winter I don't really wear my hair curly most of the time, even though I would like to because I have to wear right fitting warm hats which totally squash my curls and also because I've never been able to get 2nd day curly hair. So to avoid having to re-wet and dry my hair every day and also because my curls get squashed under my hats I do roller sets in winter. With roller sets I can go for days without re-wetting and it doesn't matter if the hair gets smashed down under hats. With roller sets I use products with silicone with no problem at all. Sorry - long explanation. I use the Moroccan oil after I've done a roller set. It loosens the waves so they don't look stiff and adds shine and makes the hair really soft and flowy! I like it better than any other product for finishing off a roller set so that it looks modern and makes soft waves instead of having hair that looks too stiff or "done."

In warmer weather I like to wear my hair curly and I've gone long periods without silicones and not using the Moroccan oil but sometimes I will smooth a little on the curls for shine and softness.

To be honest, I really don't know what to make of the whole silicone controversy. I want to believe that if I avoid cones my hair will look better but sometimes I'm skeptical and wonder if it's all a marketing ploy. The jury is still out on that for me. Often, if I use silicones I will use Deva lo poo which is supposed to remove them without damaging the hair. It's all further complicated in my case because I dye my hair.
