I was excited to try this flat iron. It's cool that in addition to being able to straighten with this you can also curl hair as well and online videos made it look super easy. However, I noticed right away when using this that it took a few times to get the hair fully straight and it did not leave a shine on my hair like my 4 year old croc flat iron. It took me longer because I kept having to redo strands and I also noticed my hair creased very easily- even from using an invisibobble and tying my hair up for only 20 minutes. The moment I opened the box, I had a feeling this wasn’t going to work out. The plates don’t touch together and I mean when you are straightening your hair you have to really press down on it or you have to go over the piece five times! I have wavy hair, this should be easy. This also created frizz and extreme damage! I had the platinum GHD before this and I used it religiously and had some split ends obviously but with this straightener, after one use, I had about 20 split ends on one strand of hair! And this was on multiple strand! I’m very disappointed in this!

I purchased this from a competitor at half off, but let me say if it broke I would repurchase - even at full price! I was super skeptical of the claims that it will keep your hair moisturized and shiny. However, I tried it fresh after a keratin wash and conditioning - no blow drying. PER! FECT! SILK! PRESS! Better yet, my hair felt healthy and moisturized. No dryness! and stiffness?...stiff where?!? we dont know her. lol I attended an outdoor wedding the following day and it held up over 7 hours of humidity and dancing with a hot face mask on. Any other time, even after having it professionally done, it would have reverted. So I'm assuming it really does lock down the cuticle like it claims. My hair only got slightly puffy at the final hour. The best part is after I washed my hair my curls were in tact. No heat damage! Ive used it several more times. All with the same can results! If you have the coins get this instead of having to spend money on cheap irons and expensive stylists! You will save money in the long run and wont regret it. As an aside, I had the best experience sans a heat protectant. Is The Bio Ionic 10X Worth It?
