The Crimson Ghost - 12 Chapters (1946) - Charles Quigley

The Crimson Ghost (1946) is a Republic film serial with Charles Quigley and Linda Stirling playing the leads. This was Director William Witney's last serial, after a career that left him one of the most praised of all serial directors. The serial was re-released as a six-episode television series in the 1950s and as a television film called Cyclotrode "X" in 1966. In the 1990s The Crimson Ghost was one of only two Republic serials to be colorized. The villain of the serial, the Crimson Ghost of the title, is one of the most visually striking of the medium. Clayton Moore (who plays an accomplice of the Crimson Ghost) later became the Lone Ranger on TV.

The Crimson Ghost - 12 Chapters (1946) - Charles Quigley

A criminal mastermind known as The Crimson Ghost is out to steal a device called the Cyclotrode, which can short-circuit all electrical current on the planet.

Plot Holes: In Chapter 9, Duncan's trailing the crooks to their underground hideout using a concealed TV camera in a getaway car. But Duncan has already been to the hideout in Chapters 2 and 3, when the kidnapped inventor is accidentally killed while saving Duncan from a death ray. This renders the rigged escape and trailing bit meaningless.

Note: In a fight during the last part of Chapter 1, the Stuntman for Charles Quigley (DaleVan Sickel) leaps half way up the wall and jumps on the Stuntman for Clayton Moore (Tom Steele). Very Good Stunt Work. Watch for it! See pictures of it below!!
