Frederick Theobald Leck was born in Germany in 1806. He married Martha "Marta" Elizabeth John (source needed) in Germany. They had the following children.

GEORGE LECK, farmer and stock raiser, P. O. Vesta, was born in Armstrong County, Pa., and followed farming in Pennsylvania and Iowa till 1867, and has successfully followed his present industry since. In 1861, he was married to Miss Sarah Henry, who was born in Westmoreland County, Pa. They have a family of three sons and three daughters--Annie C., now Mrs. Hiram Row, of Johnson County; William H., Allen F., Elenora, Celesta and the baby.

4. Adam Leck, b. Feb 23, 1843 in Armstrong County, PA. Married Phoebe Grace Rearick Titterington (1843-1944). Had 3 known children: William, Frank, and Florence Irene Leck Norton (1881-1970). Adam enlisted as a Private on Oct 12, 1861 with Co B, 78th Infantry Regiment PA. Mustered out same Company on Nov 4, 1864. He died Jun 25, 1897 in Elk County, PA in an explosion:

Explosion Kills Father and Son

Brockwayville, Pa. June 26 - Adam Leck age 62 and his son William age 25, were instantly killed yesterday by the explosion in the boiler in a small machine shop at Brockport, Elk County. The building was owned by Leck and was demolished by the force of the explosion. Both bodies were blown about a hundred feet and were terribly mangled. Frank Leck, another son, was working a few feet from his father and escaped without a scratch. The explosion is thought to be caused by carrying too much steam.

5. John Leck, b. Feb 10, 1845 at McKeesport, Armstrong Co., PA. Married Lucinda Ann Tevebaugh on 29 Sept 1872 at Brock, Nemaha Co, NE. John fought in the Civil War w/ Co. E Regiment PA Militia of 1863.

6. William Leck, b. 1846. Married Mary Jane Clark. Served in the Fourth PA Calvalry.

WILLIAM LECK, farmer and stock raiser, P. O. Vesta, was born and reared in Armstrong County, Pa., and followed carpentering in Pennsylvania and Iowa till 1867, when he came to Nebraska, and after prosecuting his trade here till 1870, he took up his present industry, which he has successfully followed since. In 1870, he was married to Miss Mary Jane Clark, who was born in Armstrong County, Pa. They have two sons and two daughters--Uphia, Robert Alexander, James Burton and Cora Mozana. Mr. Leck served in the Fourth Pennsylvania Cavalry from 1863 till the end of the war; was honorably discharged. He has been active in the social life of his locality.

In 1841 the family immigrated to the United States from Germany.
