James Jackson Allender

James Jackson Allender was born March 26, 1811 in Fleming County, Kentucky. He died October 1, 1867 in Pendleton County, Kentucky. He married Mary Stout on April 10, 1834 in Ohio.

They had eight children.

James was a farmer and he inherited William Sr.'s 588 acres in Pendleton County. He moved there and built a two story log home in 1856 that still stands today.

The log home is located on Highway 10 on Hickory Grove Road.

James died of small pox and was carried in a wagon to be buried in the first cemetery they came to. People ran in fear when they saw the wagon because of the disease. He was buried in Fisher Cemetery on Highway 10 in Pendleton County, KY.
