Notes:

Reports on genforum and elsewhere are that William Allender of the Movable Plantation had a will,Hampshire, VA,Jun 4, 1813, and that with Crestene, he had children Jorge (George), William, Jacob, Christine, and James m. Sarah Alderton, and that William and George moved to KY while James and Jacob remained in VA. Marriage records show a George, b. 1 Jul 1772, m. Elizabeth Overly in Fleming, KY and William, b. 1779, m. Anna Elizabeth Jackson, 12 Feb 1804, also in Fleming, KY --No other George and William fit the pattern for age and place and the names of the children of the brothers pattern to show family relationship to each other and to parents William and Crestene. The early census records are consistent with what is reported in gedcoms on World Tree about the children of William and George but WT does not make the connection to their parents, William and Crestene.

The 26 page work with title Alderton, by Betty Alderton Spahn describing the first five generations of Alderton and Allender families probably settles the matter. I only recently learned of this title published in 1996, and so far have not been able to get the piece. I've looked at the Irish Allenders, John. b. 1769, and married to Margaret Milligan, b. 1781 --this union does not accommodate a son b. 1779. I also can find no place for your William, b. 1779, among the reported descendants of William Allender, b. 1640. But he fits perfectly in the family of William (b. 1747 in England)and Crestene, as much as I can tell from the records so far.

In William Allender's Will of 6 May 1807 and presented to the Court on 14 June 1813, he states "I do give to my beloved wife Crestene the plantation and property whereon she now lives during her natural life it is my will and I do order that at my wife's decease that the said two plantations where I live and the mountain place and moveables to become my son James' . . ."
