Amanda Bradshaw
Amanda Bradshaw was born in 1838 in Tennessee (probably Hawkins County) to William Bradshaw and Nancy Haynes. She married Alexander "Elic" Bradshaw on May 3, 1863 in Hawkins County, TN (2). They had one child:
1. Lillie Belle Bradshaw, b. July 4, 1866.
Alexander Bradshaw died between October 1865 and July 1866 (source: Lillie's obituary).
1870 Federal Census has Amanda living with her parents in Scott County, Virginia along with three-year-old Lillie Belle.
On September 9, 1873, Amanda remarried James Fletcher in Scott County, Virginia. Her marital status was listed as "widowed."
In the 1880 Federal Census for Scott County, VA, Amanda is shown as the wife of James Dougherty, with 14 year old Lillie B "Step dau" of head of household. They were living next door to John Bradshaw (Amanda's brother) with his wife Virginia, children Andrew J, William, and Nancy, as well as Amanda and John's parents William and Nancy and Amanda and John's brother Robert.
Amanda died about 1882 (source: Lillie's obituary).

Lillie's obituary includes the following information: "Lillie Belle Bradshaw was born not long after the closing of the Civil War, on the boundary line between Tennessee and Virginia. Her parents were Elic and Amanda Bradshaw. Her father died before her birth and her mother, when she was 16. She made her home with an aunt and uncle, Mr. and Mrs. John Bradshaw, until her marriage in their home on January 1, 1888 to Noah Long. Mr Long's home was in Sturgonsville, Tennessee, a town 90 miles from Washington D.C."
