One of the cool things about Fort Collins is the quality and availability of local entertainment. For the last several years, if you were Downtown on any given weekend during the spring or summer you had the opportunity to see dozens of random acts of art happening right on the street. For free. This creative and artistic atmosphere did not occur by accident. It was planned.
Streetmosphere was created and launched by Beet Street in 2010 as a way to support and share the amazing local arts and culture of Fort Collins. There is music, dance, visual art, theater and more happening live right there on the street. And Beet Street pays the artists who perform, directly supporting local artists and keeping this community a creative haven. The program has been funded by local businesses and organizations, so that people can experience free arts programming all summer long.
This year, Beet Street has had difficulty raising the funds needed to keep the program going. They have launched a Kickstarter campaign to make up the difference so they will not have to scale back the program or cut performances.
You can read more about the program and perhaps make a donation to the local arts scene at their Kickstarter Page.
