Panel 1: INTERIOR COFFEE SHOP

Brandon is standing in line at the coffee shop waiting to be served by Coffee Shop Girl.

    BRANDON: OK.  Here we go.  All you have to do is open your mouth this time. Start a conversation...find something in common. Easy.

Panel 2: 

He begins practicing what he will say when he gets to the counter.

    BRANDON: Hi... So...  Do you like coffee? I like coffee too... No! Stupid, stupid... What am I twelve?! Focus!

Panel 3:  

Brandon has not noticed that the person in front of him has left and is unexpectedly pulled out of his head by -

    COFFEE SHOP GIRL: Well hello again. What would you like?

Panel 4: 

Brandon freezes like a deer in headlights. Really hot headlights. 

    BRANDON: (surrounded by his thoughts)

    Your name...

    and phone number...

    a date...

    dinner...

    long walks in the moonlight...

    your apron crumpled on the floor by my bed.

Panel 5:

    BRANDON: (Flustered, he blurts out the first thing that comes to his head) uhhh... I like coffee...?

Panel 6:

Fuming, Brandon takes his coffee back to the table where Tom is waiting still reading his newspaper.  Stacked on the table are five other empty coffee cups.

    TOM: Strike six?

    BRANDON: Bite me.

    TOM: That's OK, I hear the seventh time's the charm.
