Description

The Angusticlavia shown above, is a tunic that shows great hierarchical rank. The Angusticlavia was associated with the Equites, one of the two highest groups in Ancient Rome. The bands on the side of it are a purple color mixed with some red. It is usually worn with the right side strip visible.

The trabea worn with the Angusticlavia also displays the wealth of people as well. The trabea had a distinct form and color. Many wealthy people had them in red or purple, but the Equites used them in white.

The Equites used shoes that were brown with black straps across it called Calcei. Some really wealthy people also had red sandals with an ornament hanging from the back. The Calcei would usually go up to or a little below your mid-calf.

The Anulus Aureus was a gold ring that all Equites wore to separate themselves from the common class. It would represent their freedom as well.

The loincloth was an undergarment used by all classes and genders.
