How to use the Geography Songs and Maps:
1. Print the map (from an online source) that you would like to teach your student(s), one per student plus a teacher's copy.
2. Explain that you are going to label just a few countries each day. (Depending on the ages of your students, introduce1-5 new countries each day.)
3. Label the first country on the teacher's map and instruct the students to copy the name on their own maps. Continue until you have labeled all the countries for that day. Students may also color the countries. On several maps it also helps to color the bodies of water.
4. Teach the geography song only as far as the countries you have labeled. Have the students point to each country as you sing its name. Then have them sing along while pointing to each country.
5. Add new countries each day until the map is completed.
On some continents smaller countries are not included in the song. If you wish to add them, complete the countries in the song first, and then go back and label the small countries.
