Regardless of the curriculum you use to teach Latin, it is useful to have worksheets for practicing all those conjugations and declensions! Most programs begin with two simple goals: to memorize some basic chants and to learn vocabulary. Homeschool Tools has ready-to-print reference charts of the basic chants. The charts can be used as classroom posters or handed out to students for their notebooks. There are also blank charts for practicing the chants. In our family we use the blank charts over and over again until the chants are mastered.
As vocabulary is learned it is useful to record the new words with other words of the same part of speech and declension/conjugation. Vocabulary sheets are provided for nouns, verbs and adjectives. For the nouns there is a blank space at the top of the page to identify the declension and a chart to show the case endings. Next there is space to record vocabulary words which belong to this declension. Words can be added as they are learned. Similarly, verbs can be grouped by their conjugation on the vocabulary sheets for verbs. Adjectives have their page as well.
There are many ways to practice and apply Latin lessons, and many other worksheets are included for a variety of uses. There is even a blank Bingo game sheet. To play Bingo, have the students write their Latin vocabulary words randomly on the squares. The teacher calls out the English meaning of the words, and the students use pennies or other markers to fill their boards. Part of the challenge is remembering the meaning of the words! Bingo works well with conjugated verbs as well. For example, the teacher would say "he sees" and the students must find the correct form of "spectare."
