Remind your students to say "S" without letting their tongues touch their teeth, even the side teeth. Sometimes it helps students who make a slushy sound to smile and bite their back teeth together as they say "S" so as to get the feel of how the tongue should not touch the teeth.
1. Say the sound of S. Repeat until correct.
2. Say say-say-say-say-say
see-see-see-see-see
sigh-sigh-sigh-sigh
sow-sow-sow-sow-sow
soo-soo-soo-soo-soo
3. Say easter-easter-easter
mister-mister-mister
messy-messy-messy
fussy-fussy-fussy
4. Say face-face-face
guess-guess-guess
hiss-hiss-hiss

fuss-fuss-fuss
goose-goose-goose
