In the Steps of Blaise Pascal

Learning about the Scientific Method

With Experiments on Sound, the Torricelli Experiment, and Two Siphon Experiments

These experiments are designed to teach the use of the scientific method. The first experiment is an experiment on sound and is described on the lab sheet where the "Problem" and "Experiment" sections are already filled in for the student. Help the student fill in the lab sheet. Next the student can design his own experiment on sound and use the blank lab sheet that follows.

The remaining experiments have directions and lab sheets which can be printed. All of the experiments are based on actual experiments performed by Blaise Pascal, one of the foremost scientists and Christian apologists of the 1600's. Pascal once wrote: "According to the doctrine of chance, you ought to put yourself to the trouble of searching for the truth; for if you die without worshipping the True Cause, you are lost." He also wrote: "Not only do we know God by Jesus Christ alone, but we know ourselves only by Jesus Christ."
