Science comes from the Latin word, "scio," which means "I know." From the beginning, science has been the study of what we can know. You do not need a fancy science curriculum to share with your students the wonder of the world around you.
Homeschool Tools provides several worksheets that allow you to dabble in various fields. You can illustrate and memorize the planets, learn about zoological classifications, try your hand at the scientific method, and learn some simple physics in the process.
Included with several sections is background information on the scientists who made great discoveries in a particular field. Many of them were also men of faith. They advanced in their fields because they expected to find order in nature. They knew that when science experiments gave consistent results, they testified to the existence of God. As the Bible says, "For what can be known about God is plain to them, because God has shown it to them. Ever since the creation of the world his invisible nature, namely, his eternal power and deity, has been clearly perceived in the things that have been made." Romans 1:19-20.
