The word window originates from the Old Norse ‘vindauga’, from ‘vindr – wind’ and ‘auga – eye’, i.e. "wind eye". - Wikipedia

the satellite through glass
on this slippery
Arctic night
NOTE: Here we have "the satellite" moon (not 'a', or any old satellite), seen through a window, on a sub-zero ("Arctic") night. It's 'like glass' out there with the ice, also. A view of shiny contrasts. This glossiness is emphasised by "slippery"; which also serves to pun on 'slippers' (wearing them whilst gazing out the window). Basically, it was decided not to go for a walk, under the winter stars, because of severe low temperature. Wimping out from doing the Eskimo in favour of remaining as snug as a bug in a rug. It probably saved my life! ◠‿◠ Thing to remember with ku is that it's not primarily descriptive poetry; rather, a dream is conjured by indirect suggestions ('allusion').

Flask, American c. 1888. Gorham Manufacturing Company
"This curvilinear flask is a great example of the Aesthetic Movement style, which appeared strikingly new and modern to consumers at the time. The form was inspired by realistic Japanese metal objects with which Americans were just becoming familiar, and Gorham used a newly invented process to patinate the silver to resemble weathered copper for the Southwestern landscape theme."
