The ancient Celts started their diurnal cycle at sunset. There’s a BIG clue! The Celtic calendar initiates spring at Imbolc (February 1). Meteorologically it's still officially winter (Gregorian calendar); although climate change is almost a month ahead now.

crossroader : …multi-dimensional zenfulness in this one
jp : Time slows down in L3. The idea fielded is that matter is solid consciousness (a dream that's real enough). This changes everything. The question mark punctuating L2 being rhetorical. It seems to favour scientific realism, but lectures the opposite and suggest a method (L1). Yes, 'Zen' could spin that experience.

The speed of transition from L2 to L3 adds to the impression of a the dog's frenzy. The second gap in this post's 'illustrated ku' (to distinguish from a haiga proper) does a similar job. (If I do a Kindle, this might be one way layout option.)

I find these extraordinary on so many levels. Look at how ancient they are yet they could be attributed to Brancusi and no one would bat an eye. I also marvel at the inventiveness of purpose and the elegance of design. OK, then think of the contemporary connotations for the name based on our relationship to television..........CF
Clappers, Egypt ca. 1353–1336 B.C.
a percussion instrument from prehistoric times, ancestor of the castanet. These carved from a single hippopotamus tusk sawn in two down the middle, fashioned in the form of a pair of human hands and forearms. Five incised lines around each wrist undoubtedly represent bracelets. A hole in each of the upper forearms allows for a cord to hold the two clappers together.
