NOTE: Drying a tea towel - new method using tree branch and butterfly clip attached to halogen lamp This radical new setup catches the wind from the fan and the heat from the lamp more effectively than simply draping without wings. Greatly reduced drying time. Patent pending.
MEMO: Christmas celebrates the light of the world returning, once again, out of the bleak dark of wintertime and with the seeds of spring stirring in response, in the black. With the promise of eternal life, the cold solstice marks the turn into the year's 'light half'. Both religiously and in terms of nature's rotation of duty, the people celebrate into harmony and alignment.
XMAS LIGHTS: Often the lights we string over the tree, or the walls, or the roof... go on the blink, especially the ones from a few decades ago when we bought them for nothing. Usually a faulty bulb needs replaced to complete the electrical cirsuit. We set up our Xmas lights (old or brand new) to simulate the return of the sun god and also, at a deeper level, to challenge and defend against the enveloping darkness of mystery all around our existential log fire.
However, the (pagan: 'country dweller') owl seems to have a better idea - a more mature alignment with the yin and with the yang, perchance. . . .
