Atmorans were a race of Men who originated from the continent of Atmora, located far north of Skyrim. They are considered to be the progenitors of the Nords and subsequently of the Imperials, the Bretons, and the Nedes, after a large group of them settled in northern Tamriel and founded the earliest known human city of Saarthal, only a handful of them escaped the destruction of atmora and maintained a pure bloodline.
