MY SPECIAL PLACE

My special place is in my head,

Especially when I read in bed.

The movies play within my mind

With villains often quite unkind.

My heroes all bring lustful sighs

With muscled arms and tree-trunk thighs.

Adventures play out wild and free

The heroine always being me.

There’s nothing that I cannot do

Imagination brings me through.

But when my books are far away

My voices then come out to play.

They tell me stories weird and true

And sometimes tales so sad and blue.

But when at last I fall asleep

Imagination goes real deep.

It flies me all around the world

And back to when I was a girl.

My schooldays often feature then

Don’t want to go back there again.

With daylight hours comes real life

That turns me back to a normal wife.

My daily routine keeps me sane

Till time to grab my books again

And then I set my heroes free
