nano is my default text editor on both Raspberry Pi and my MacBook
Atom is an Integrated Development Environment that integrates with githuib and kite. Atom can run on linux (i.e., Raspberry Pi) or Mac OS X.
To install atom on MacBook, open a browser and go to https://atom.io and click on the download button
Open the Downloads folder and double click on the atom-mac.zip file, which will unzip the file
Open another finder window and go to Applications
Drag the Atom app from Downloads to Applications
Double click the Atom app. Once opened, mark as Keep in Dock
Move atom-mac.zip to trash and empty the trash
Kite is an AI Coding Assistant plug-in for many IDEs.
To install Kite, open Atom go to Settings
Install Kite
Install Kite Engine
When Kite fails, click on Kite icon and click on Settings icon. Click on Manage and create an account
