This is a follow up rant about emf with supporting data.
Epidemiology is the study of disease rates within a population with the goal of identifying the underlying cause.
Correlation is a mathematical method to determine if two sets of data are related. If the data correlates, then there is a possibility that one causes the other. I was going to go through the bother of doing the correlation, but simply looking at the two graphs and you can see there is no correlation.
The tables below show Primary Brian Tumor rates since the introduction of cell phones, and the number of cell phone users since the introduction. Click on the images and it will take you to the source.
If there was a correlation between cell phone usage and brain cancer, then the expectation would be that we would see some rise in the cancer rate (i.e., a correlation). However, the cancer rate seems to decline or stay flat.
So, there is no correlation between the cell phone user population and the population of people who get cancer.
Because cell phone usage is almost 100% of the US population, the incorrect way to frame the question is: Do you have Brain Cancer? And Do you use a cell phone? Because it is likely that close to 100% of people with brain cancer use a cell phone. But the same 100% correlation exists for those who breathe, eat, sleep, talk, listen and have brain cancer.
