To convert the dining room to a library, I added floor to ceiling bookcases. The facing is premium pine stained with Minwax True Black. The pine shelves are stained with Minwax Natural.
The strip lights are connected to a TP-link smart plug. The lights turn on and off automatically, or can be turned on and off via voice command.
The bookshelves are a combination of solid pine and pine plywood.
The previous owners had this room as a formal Dining Room. I converted it to a dining room with the addition of floor to ceiling bookcases. The ceiling light was replaced.
Additional photo of library. The smart shades open and close aautomatically based on time of day, or can be controlled through voice command. The room is very bright, but the photo adjusted for the light coming through the windows maaking it appear darker than it is.
Corner of library with stand alone bookcase. The walls were painted Sherwin-Williams Flat Super Paint Tinsmith (grey).
The plastic faceplates were replaced with an Allen & Roth wood steel. The light switch is a 3-way smart switch.
