Discover Roku on Echo or Alexa
Echo can provide limited voice control over Roku. This shows directions on how to setup Echo and Roku
Step 1. Add Roku skill
Step 2. Echo Cannot Discover new devices
I have my Roku set so they cannot be remotely paired. I did this because I use a universal remote, and I didn't want the family using the Roku remotes to change things. This setting prevents Echo from discovering the Roku. Here are the directions to change this setting:
Using Roku remote go to Home
Go to Settings
Go to System
Go to Advanced system settings
Go to Device connect
Select Enable Device connect
Ask Echo or Alexa to discover devices
In the Alexa app on your phone, pair the Roku with the Echo in that room
Go to Skills, Youur Skills
Select Roku, then Settings
Select Manage In TV Video
Choose the Roku to control then the Echo to control it
