Set Static Local IP Address

In general, always use DHCP to assign IP addresses.

Sometimes there is a need to assign a Static Local IP address to a device. Local addresses are routable within your Home LAN. Static Public IP addresses are not covered here. Public IP Addresses are routable from the internet.

These directions are for AT&T's Arris BGW210-700 gateway. They might work for other AT&T gateways, but no guarantee.

Directions:

Open a browser and login to gateway. Enter the gateway's IP address (e.g., 168.192.1.254). The username and password are on the side of the gateway.

Select the Home Network tab

Select IP Allocation

Scroll down to the device or IP address

Check that the device is on

If it is on, click the Allocate button
