Watch this video first to gain an understanding of this project.
Architecture (sometimes known as the built environment) is the practice of designing buildings, man-made structures, features, and facilities in which we live and work. It is one of the most prevalent examples of design around that affects you day to day.
As humans we have been designing and manipulating our environment through architecture for an estimated 1.8 million years.
During this project, over a course of several weeks, you will:
Investigate, research, analyse and specify a design context for creating a building or environment.
You will then design and develop a proposal for a design solution and make some test models of your idea to better understand its positives as a design solution but also the limitations of your outcome.
Decide on a context for designing your own building or environment and write a specification to help direct your design work.
Complete your 4 design proposals. Make sure you add colour and annotate them to explain the ideas.
This is a transition lesson where you will start planning ready to manufacture a model of your design.
In this lesson you will complete you model focusing on detail such as internal furnishings and outside features like the garden. You will then use still photos to show evidence of your model in your slides presentation.
