When you start cutting your 2D shape, you will notice that its important to follow the steps you watched during the demonstration.
If you are not following the steps of cutting or holding the saw the correct way, then there is a high chance you will split the wood and get lots and lots of splinters!
Successful 2D shapes should look like this with smooth edges and a clear shape.
Remember to hold the saw on the handle with 1 hand. You should cut while holding the saw straight and at a 90degree angle to the plywood - do not twist and turn the blade in the wood.
And always use sand paper to finish the edges and make them smooth to remove any splinters or rough sides.
Forcing the blade, twisting and turning it will cause many problems. It could break the blade but also it will rip and tear your wood instead of cutting it neatly.
This will mean you will have rough sides and lots of splinters. your shape will not look nice and it will create extra work and a lot of time to make it better.
You can hold the wood to keep it steady and give extra support
You can use 2 hands to hold the coping saw while cutting
Always watch what you are doing so that you cut a perfect line
Mark out your line or design carefully before you cut
