Session 4

• In today’s session you will:

  • Explore the positive impact that STEM has:

    • On you personally

    • On the environment

    • On society

    • You will also have the opportunity to share some of your findings with others.

• How do you encounter STEM in your everyday life?

• Can you list some of the different ways that STEM impacts you personally?

• Think about what you do in an average day – are there elements of your day that involve STEM?

  • You might think about: travel, education, your leisure time, eating and drinking, at home etc.

• Can you think of different ways that STEM might impact the environment?

• You might like to consider things such as:

  • Renewable energy

  • Conservation

  • Protection of habitats and animals

  • Access to clean water

  • Agriculture etc.

You need to choose an animal that will use your crossing.

You now need to Build a crossing ( bridge, tunnel, overpass, rope bridge ) that will enable your animal to cross.

Ask yourself 

: Will it be strong enough? 

:What does it need to feel safe from humans.

:Will it shake from vibrations and scare the animals?
