Planning Your First Activity In STEM
In today’s session we will focus on Planning
Before you can plan anything, you must find information that will inform your
planning.
What information do you think it might be useful to know?
Who can you ask or where can you find what you need to know?
What might happen if you don’t ask these question and don’t know this
information?
Questions to ask
Abobe Illustrator
Working with a partner, create a ‘question checklist’ that includes all questions
you will need to ask, before you plan or lead an activity or session.
You can record your ‘question checklist’ in a way that you find easy to use.
You will use you ‘question checklist’ each time you have to plan and/or lead
anything from now on, to ensure you always have the information you need.
Session structure
What do we mean by session structure?
What are some of the ways in which a session could be structured?
Why might it be useful to structure a session in a certain way?
Suits you!
The aim is to be the first team to turn all 13 of their cards over in order, starting at ace and ending at king,
On ‘go’ one player from each team must run to their clockface and turn one card at random,
If it’s the ace it can stay face up, but if it’s not the ace then it must be turned face down again,
Players must take it in turns to run and can only turn one card per run,
The team who turns all of their cards over in order first is the winner!
