Inspiring STEM Leaders
Leadership skills and behaviors
In the table on google classroom - list as many leadership skills and behaviors as you can think of, identifying which an effective leader should be and which you shouldn’t be.
Leadership Party
Think of someone you consider to be an effective leader.
Now pretend that you have magically shrunk your leader, you are off to a party and have decided to take your leader with you, carefully holding them in your cupped hands.
Once at the party, you will mingle with the other guests and introduce your leader to the others at the party.
You must introduce your leader by sharing their name, but also a skill, quality or behavior that you feel makes them an effective leader.
After a few minutes you can stop mingling and share with the group either who you took to the party or who you were introduced to at the party.
You can also share any skills, qualities or behaviors that were mentioned in relation to selected leaders.
Model a leader
Working in your small group, use the materials you have been given to make a model of a good leader
Think about what you can show in your model, that displays some of the skills and behaviours that an effective STEM leader might need
This might include things your leader is wearing, holding, has near to them etc.
Share your good leader model with group.
