A Final Design is a presentation drawing which you do before drawing your maze design using 3D Computer Aided Design.
Using Pencil and paper or the app Procreate, (your teacher will show you these), draw out your final design, full size. Remember that your design must not exceed 150mm x 115mm but it can be smaller. Leave a 10mm border and also gaps that are no smaller than 5mm between your puzzle walls. Use a thin pencil line and then a black fine line pen to draw your design.
Take photos of your work as you draw it so that you can feature it on your DT website.
Note: You will use your Final design drawing above to transfer your design to the CAD software.
Something you should remember:
There should not be anymore changes to the design - if there are changes to your design then you are still in the Development stage.
Design should be full size. 150mm x 115mm (15cm x 11.5cm)
Fine lining and rendering should be perfect
Highlight effects should be featured in this design to resemble the shiny clear acrylic layer
A background colour surround should be included.
Some lines are thicker than others so be careful choosing the correct pen tool - Technical Pen. The gaps between the shapes are big enough to allow the ball to travel freely.
The Technical Pen tool has been used to get neat lines. All lines meet and are joined at each corner to close the shape. Gaps between shapes are big enough and colours looks good.
Good design, very neat and well planned. 10/10
Design looks rushed, some lines are not straight or accurate and some lines or corners do not meet. 4/10
Not all shapes have been coloured and lines do not meet accurately. 4/10
Not all shapes have been coloured and lines do not meet accurately. 3/10
