An inspiration board is a way to build and develop ideas. It's a pace where you can collect and share ideas to help you with your designs later. Inspiration boards give you ideas and inspire you when you create your own work.
Inspiration boards have many names: Mind maps, Spider diagrams and Idea boards but they all work in the same way.
Content such as images and keywords share styles, colours, ideas, themes and inspirational content.
These will help you develop your own style, theme and design.
The student examples below show how different ideas connect and develop. It is important for ideas to grow from other ideas. Look at the example above and pay attention to how a 'sport' ideas developed into a 'food - fruit' idea!
Can you find this example above?
My Ideas - Sport - Tennis - Tennis Racket - Tennis Balls - Limes - Food - Fruit
Clear photos and labels. Lines have been connected to each image and text box.
Coloured text and colour text boxes add to the appearance and how nice it looks.
Keywords and text boxes have been used more than photos but ideas are still clear.
