Happy New Year and Welcome Back! We hope you had a restful and enjoyable holiday break.
Back in November, RHS was paid a special visit by Alumni Wesley Schultz and Jeremiah Fraites of The Lumineers. Wes and Jer, along with RHS alum, Nick Bell, (their Artistic Director), reached out in hopes to film the music video for their latest single, "A.M. Radio" at their alma mater. While it was our pleasure to host our former students who have achieved such tremendous success, it was also a chance to give our current students the opportunity to contribute to the production of this music video. Students from RHS who were cast as extras or worked as production assistants were fully immersed in the project and given access to all the behind the scenes aspects of real world video production. We are proud of their efforts and have already seen the influence this experience has had on our them. In fact, a group of students who were involved in the making of "A.M. Radio" used their new learning and tools to produce their own video, "Dreams Do Come True" in which an RHS student wishes for the gift of an RHS Paver as he races around Ramsey to make his request to Santa. Storyboarding, scheduling, casting, video editing, music editing and production planning were some of the skills needed to make this amazing promotional video happen. We embraced this opportunity to collaborate with professionals in the field and look forward to opportunities such as this in the future.
Big Stage Pavers are still available for purchase by clicking here. All pavers that are purchased by January 15 will be installed in June. All proceeds go to the RHS PTSO.
As always, thank you for your support and GO RAMS!

The Ramsey RHS PTSO is Partnering with RHS to build an active and dynamic Ram For Life Alumni Network. Our mission is to enhance the overall student experience by providing support for current Ramsey High School students and staff, to foster a collaborative community of learners, to celebrate and promote the collective experiences unique to the Ramsey High School community. Cultivate positive relationships between Ramsey High School students, alumni, and the community, and support alumni in social and professional networking.
This group will encourage participation in alumni sponsored programs and strengthen the connection between alumni and the Ramsey High School Community.
We aim to develop a group of “Professionals in Residence” from our alumni, parents, and community members to support students in the Profile of a Graduate Project (Senior capstone). These Profile Projects will challenge our students to produce a project of personal interest that draws from all they have learned. Students will need expertise from people in specific fields to complete their project. Register as a Ram For Life to get involved!

On Friday, January 7th the English Department will be holding our annual Poetry Out Loud competition from 9-10:45 in the auditorium. Poetry Out Loud is a national arts education program that encourages the study of great poetry by offering free educational materials and a dynamic recitation competition for high school students across the country. This program helps students master public speaking skills, build self-confidence, and learn about literary history and contemporary life.
