The Freshman Orientation Barbecue
This past August I had the privilege of being a part of the first freshman orientation barbecue at Ramsey High School. This event was held by the student leaders here at Ramsey, including myself, as well as administration, and teachers. This barbecue was such a warm welcome to all the new students joining us at the high school and an amazing experience to meet and interact with everyone. Whether you were eating the delicious burgers, throwing around the frisbee, or catching up with friends, I constantly saw a smile on everyone’s face, including my own.
To me, Ramsey High School is such an amazing atmosphere. Everyone in it and all the faculty members, never fail to make me feel welcomed. So I was determined that day to make any student that I came across feel like they are now apart of something bigger, Ramsey High School. Those few hours spent in the courtyard, weren’t long enough and I’m so eager to plan and host a barbecue again next year. I knew that it meant a lot to most of the freshman class and all the leaders and faculty as well. Either being a student and feeling so excited to start at a new school, or a leader and being able to watch laughter and see smiles upon the upcoming class. This is another step in the right direction for Ramsey, as we all continue to make the school a better place with things so simple as a class get-together. I believe we are more than a school and everyone who attends RHS, makes a difference. Whether you are a freshman, sophomore, junior, or senior, everyone here has an impact. For all the grades from 8th and below, we hope to see you when it’s your year to be apart of this wonderful school and watch you all succeed one step at a time.
