This has been an incredible start to the school year in ALL areas that Mr. Esdale and I frequently reference: Academics, Arts, Activities, Athletics, Alumni. The band has just concluded a successful season, the Drama Club will be presenting the Fall Play, See How they Run, November 15-17, and the Ram Jams have appeared at the Farmers Market. Our Parent Teacher Student Organization (PTSO click here to join) Alumni group has begun to take off and we are building a cadre of “Professionals in Residence” to support student learning and projects. Design Thinking has partnered with RHS Alum and New Jersey District 39 Assemblywoman, Holly T. Schepisi (R),on a project where students will weigh in on a current legislative issue. Former RHS students, Mr. John Schaus and Mr. George “Dutch” Halik , both Veterans of World War II will meet with History classes and the History Club on November 7th in honor of Veterans Day. RHS Grad Jenna Lorenzo will also visit with our Drama Club and members of the Gay Straight Alliance to discuss the making of her soon to be released movie “Lez Bomb”. On a side note, if you would like to support Jenna, you can pre-order the film on itunes by clicking here. Significantly, pre-orders will help the film "trend" the day it is released. The film releases in both Theaters and On Demand November 9th, and here is the website.
Athletics serve as a great vehicle for students to develop skills and to practice teamwork, communication, collaboration, overcoming adversity and playing on after a failure, leadership, endurance, and performing on the “Big Stage”. A championship game is a “Big Stage” event that also provides an opportunity for the community to come together to root each other on and show our school spirit! Monday and Tuesday present an opportunity for our school community to cheer our Boys and Girls Soccer team on in their semi-final matchups for the State Sectional title. We will take advantage of this unique opportunity by running a Pep Rally schedule and dismiss students at 2:00 in order to cheer on the Ram Soccer teams on Monday (tonight's game has been postponed due to severe weather in our area). We expect strong attendance and a group that will cheer Loud and Proud! Go Rams!!!!!!!!!
