The RHS hockey team had a very successful year. The Varsity team ended their regular season with a record of 14-3-3. I have been involved and playing for the Ramsey Hockey Association since I was in kindergarten and have always played in the Ramsey program. During this time, I made many friends and met a lot of people. It is a big commitment to be a part of a hockey team; especially, throughout middle school and now that I am mid-way through my second year of high school when academics become more challenging. The practices are late at night and there are usually meetings after school at least once a week. Also, every Friday the team dresses in nice clothes for the hockey games coming up over the weekend.
It can be difficult to manage time needed to be spent on school work and team requirements to maintain a balanced life. Having hockey as a part of my life has really changed the way I am as a person. This is really what our entire school is all about (being your best self). It has taught me a lot of critical thinking skills due to the fast pace of the game. Hockey has also taught me how to work as a team and collaborate with others. Without the skill of being able to work as a team, it is very hard to win. Overall hockey is a really great high school sport and be sure to root for the high seeded Ramsey high school team in the state playoffs.
