The Ramsey High School Design Lab is an innovative educational initiative that uses design thinking methodology to foster creative and innovative thinking at the high school level. The Design Lab is modeled after the design thinking program at Stanford University’s d. School. The goal of the course is to foster the skills and dispositions associated with complex, creative problem-solving and to promote innovative work cultures that build capacity for economic and social change. We strive to prepare to perform on the "Big Stage" and we work to create opportunities to be on the "Big Stage." The Design Thinking program is a prime example of this. Design Thinking offers our students opportunities to solve open-ended, complex, real-world problems. In the first semester of this school year, we were incredibly honored to partner with Mr. Glenn Schuck (RHS alumnus) to work with 1010 WINS on researching their audience, and finding solutions to reach younger demographics. On January 14, 2020 our students successfully presented to 1010 WINS staff their market research findings, and viable strategies in reaching younger audiences. We are tremendously proud of this group of students and teachers who supported the class for engaging in the Design Thinking process, collaborating with each other, presenting their findings in a creative, yet crystal clear manner.
