Volleyball Season Survey closes Monday, October 2!
Since June 2023, the MSHSL has convened a Boys Volleyball Task Force to determine the most appropriate season of participation and competition for this newly approved MSHSL interscholastic sport. The task force has sought information from member schools, volleyball officials, and the public to support the decision. Next, a vote to determine the competition season will occur during the October MSHSL Governing Board meeting.
In order to provide direction to our MSHSL representatives, Superintendent Renee Corneille (Class AA) and Superintendent Don Peschel (Class A) we respectfully request that superintendents complete this one-question survey as soon as possible.
It should be noted that surveys such as the one you are being asked to complete now will be seldom utilized unless there is a particularly impactful decision such as which season boys volleyball is placed. We know that our representatives will appreciate your guidance as they cast their votes on behalf of MASA.
Have the Percentages of Female Superintendents Leading Large Districts in the Nation Increased?
Throughout the year, I am contacted by those interested in the gender breakdown of superintendents across the nation. I came across this article from “K-12Dive,” focused on the number of female superintendents in large school districts and in different parts of the country. Of interest to note is that the Northeast U.S. has nearly equal representation of males and females in the largest districts in the region.
Leadership Matters!
“Self-control is a critical leadership skill. Leaders generally are able to plan and work at a task over a longer time span than those they lead.” - Gerald Faust
