Look for the MASA Legislative Platform to Arrive in your Inbox Next Week!

The Legislative Committee has completed its work, and the MASA Board of Directors will review the draft platform at a special meeting on January 29.  Once approved, it will be sent to you, legislators, our education organization friends, and many others. Please feel free to share it broadly, and we would be grateful if you used it in your advocacy efforts!

House Legislative Leaders Announce Committee Deadlines

With the 2024 legislative session just weeks away (the first day is Feb. 12), the following has been announced:

• Friday, March 22 — Committees in both bodies must act favorably on bills that are not major appropriation or finance bills.

• Friday, April 19 — Committees in both bodies must act favorably on major appropriation and finance bills.

The legislature must complete its work by May 20, 2024.
