Legislators as “Principals for the Day”

The first annual “Principal for the Day,” sponsored by MESPA and MASSP, will take place on January 9, 2024. Principals across the state have been asked to invite their local representatives to participate in this special day. Let’s support our partner education organizations as they work to involve all 201 legislators in a typical day in the life of a principal! Read the full info here.

MASA Legislative Committee Meeting and the 2024 MASA Platform

The committee's first meeting was held this week and resulted in a robust discussion about what should be included in the MASA 2024 Legislative Platform. The committee meets again on January 23, 2024, and will draft the platform that will go to the board of directors for final approval. 

If you have specific ideas you would like the committee to consider, please send them to Deb Henton and Valerie Dosland. We have shared members' thoughts with the committee and will continue to do so until the platform is drafted.

Save the Date: MDE Back to School Conference

We have confirmed with Commissioner Jett that the annual conference will take place on August 6, 2024, at the Minneapolis Marriott Northwest. Mark your calendars!
