Request from AASA - What are your Experiences with Political Contention?
One of AASA's academics in residence is undertaking a study looking at superintendents' experiences with political contention. The study is designed to understand the impact of the current political climate on school superintendents and their districts. Specifically, they are exploring the costs that school districts incur due to political conflict, and the personal costs of conflict to superintendents (e.g., mentally, emotionally, physically, financially). They plan to use the data from this study to inform policymakers and the general public about critical issues affecting superintendents and America's public schools. Please look for an email with the subject line: REMINDER: Survey on Cost of Contention to K-12 Public Schools, by The Superintendent Lab and UCLA.
If you are a superintendent who did not receive the e-mail with a unique survey link, or if you would prefer to go directly to the survey now, you may use this anonymous link: The Role of the Superintendent in American Democracy.
