New This Year! MASA/MASBO Legislative Session Updates with Valerie Dosland
In partnership with our friends at MASBO, we will be able to hear regular legislative updates from Valerie in addition to updates emailed out weekly during the session. The first session is tomorrow, Friday, February 16, from 12:30 - 1:15 pm.
Here is the link to the session and information on all of the other dates. Thank you, MASBO and Valerie!
Message from Representative Edelson Regarding Signing up for READ Act Training:
Sending this on as requested by one of the co-authors of the READ Act:
“Please connect with your districts this week (or forward this email on) to ensure they know the Read Act passed last session provides professional training for educators from your districts to do the training, they sign up with a link MDE sent a few week ago. MDE has negotiated a state contract for all the training. A separate contract for each district is not needed.
There has been some confusion on this front. I've also notified all the education stakeholders to have them connect with districts as well.
If they have any further questions, please connect with Bobbie Burnham from MDE at: bobbie.burnham@state.mn.us
Thank you!”
Heather Edelson
State Representative
District 50A - Edina and Bloomington
Attention MASA Members who are also AASA Members!
Superintendent David Law has cleared two hurdles and is now one of three finalists for President-Elect of AASA. Be watching for voting information to come from AASA in the days ahead. We will send a reminder, as well. Good luck, David!
