As the weather begins to change and temperatures drop, I want to take a moment to remind everyone how important it is for students to come to school dressed appropriately for the conditions.
Our school day begins at 8:00 a.m. and ends at 3:15 p.m. Breakfast is served starting at 7:45 a.m. Please do not drop students off before 7:45, as there is no supervision available before that time.
We also appreciate families scheduling appointments outside of school hours whenever possible. We have noticed an increase in early pick-ups recently, and we want to ensure that students are able to maximize their learning time each day.
If you need to pick your child up early or make changes to their after-school transportation plans, please notify the office no later than 12:00 p.m. so we can communicate those changes to teachers in a timely manner.
Thank you for helping us keep students safe and protect their valuable learning time throughout the day.
Hi families and friends, Our school is participating in a creative fundraiser with Art to Remember that allows you to purchase keepsake products customized with your child’s art. There are over 60 products, and many are less than $20. These make great gifts, and a percentage of every purchase goes right back to our school. You can use the art we created at school or even upload pictures of other art created at home! Click on the link below and enter the online order code shown on your child’s order form (sent home in Friday Folders) or to search for your child’s artwork. Then, have fun shopping! We are excited to celebrate Halloween at school! Here are a few important details for the day:
Costumes: Students are welcome to wear their costumes to school. Please make sure costumes are school-appropriate. No weapons, blood, or gore are allowed.
Parade: The parade will begin promptly at 8:25 a.m. Students will walk all the way around the building. Parents are welcome to stand anywhere around the outside of the school to watch and cheer.
Class Parties: Following the parade, class parties will take place in classrooms and wrap up around 9:15 a.m.
Costume Changes: After the party, students will take off their costumes and place them in their backpacks. Please have your child wear regular clothes underneath their costume if possible to make changing easier.
Rest of the Day: Once costumes are put away, students will return to a normal school day.
Please check out the signup genius to support classroom parties.
Thank you for helping us make this a safe and fun celebration
In order to honor our veterans this year, we will be creating a slideshow to share during our celebration and in classrooms. If your veteran was already represented in last year’s presentation and no updates or corrections are needed, you do not need to complete a new form. Last year’s Veterans Day presentation is linked below for your reference.
Veteran's Day Vanderhoof Slideshow 2024
If you would like to have your veteran honored in our slide show please complete the following steps:
You can help your child to fill out the veteran information sheet digitally here: Veterans Day Form (Please don't worry about formatting! I can fix anything you type. The picture, if possible, and information written are most important!)
You may send them electronically to Mrs. Henrichsen at cblais@jeffcoschools.us DIRECTIONS HERE by November 7th.
If you need to print the form and send it in, that’s okay, too!
Additionally, We will be holding an indoor reception on Tuesday, November 11th from 8:30-9:00 am to celebrate the veterans in our community. We hope that our veterans will join us for the event and invite you to RSVP here. Students and families are encouraged to wear RED. R.E.D. is an acronym that originally stands for Remember Everyone Deployed and was created to remind people of our heroes overseas and show that we are thinking of them.
Thanks for sharing and honoring your veterans!
