Dear Vanderhoof Families,
Finally—some winter weather, or at least a winter chill! I hope this message finds you all toasty warm and enjoying your weekend.
We had a wonderful display of courage, confidence, and brain power on Friday during our Spelling Bee. Congratulations to all of our participants! The Bee went an impressive 10 rounds, with the championship round ending with Ben Porter as our champion, Griffin Bishop as runner-up, and Grace Horigan placing third. Our top two spellers will advance to the next round—well done!
A huge thank-you to our judges and parent volunteers who helped make this event possible. Special shout-out to Leslie McMahon, Jamie Kitzman, Brie Wabiszczewicz, Phil Vigil, Ashley Caputo, and Naomi Wilcox. We are also grateful to Hot Works for providing cookies and drinks for the event.
Looking ahead to Valentine’s Day 💌—if you’re out and about and would like to donate a box of valentines, we can always use extras for students. Donations can be dropped off at the main office.
Our Valentine’s Day card exchange and celebrations will take place on Wednesday, February 12th, as there is no school on February 13th. Celebrations will occur throughout the day and will be determined by grade-level teachers, with an emphasis on exchanging cards and engaging in fun kindness activities.
Thank you, as always, for your continued support and partnership. Stay warm!
