Dear Vanderhoof Families-
Happy Fall! I hope everyone enjoyed the cooler weather this weekend. We so appreciate the time last Friday as a staff to come together. Teachers were able to use the time to purposefully plan ahead and reflect on recent assessment data. Our first restaurant night is coming up on 9/25 at MOD Pizza. This is a great fundraiser for Vanderhoof and a chance to eat some yummy pizza with your fellow Roadrunners!

In Colorado, we have been fortunate that the Healthy School Meals for All (HSMA) program allows our district to provide one free breakfast and one free lunch daily to all students, regardless of income. Because of this, our families may think the prior federal benefits under the National School Lunch Plan may have been reduced or eliminated. This is not true! For eligible students, the federal plan qualifies them for free and reduced lunch and other student benefits (school fee waivers, summer meal benefits, etc.).
This federal funding also helps Vanderhoof secure additional state and federal funding, which is used for our staffing and school materials. If your family meets the criteria, we encourage you to complete the application by visiting SchoolCafé and completing a Student Benefit Application.
If you have any questions regarding the application process please reach out to Food Services at freeandreduced@jeffco.k12.co.us
